Word Conscious’ Mission:

We empower professionals to elevate their workplace communication through expertly crafted training materials on workplace writing. Every person has a unique voice that deserves to be heard, and good writing stems from both skill and self-confidence: qualities that can be improved through consistent practice and knowledgeable support.

Meet Nasim Mansuri

Professional Writer & Chemical Engineer

Nasim has been writing and editing for publications and Fortune 500 companies since 2015, both under her own name and as a ghostwriter. Her years as an engineering manager in the manufacturing industry and her volunteer work in the United States, Paraguay, Lithuania, Tanzania, and Thailand have given her unique insight into the many communication challenges employees face at every organizational level and across multiple cultural backgrounds.

Nasim brings a dynamic career path, management experience, and writing skills honed across several industries to Word Conscious.

Meet Heidi Mungall

Legal Research Professional and Freelance Writer

Heidi Mungall is an entrepreneur and freelance writer with a diverse background spanning retail, music education, and grant writing. A working mother pursuing a career in the legal field, she developed a passion for writing through freelance projects and academic research in business and design.
Raised in a household of small business owners, Heidi gained early exposure to the dynamics of entrepreneurship, shaping her practical understanding of professional operations. Her broad experience across industries has equipped her with a strong command of workplace communication and etiquette when working with a wide range of customers—expertise she brings to the Word Conscious portfolio.

Creating Word Conscious

Nasim and Heidi are second cousins, but grew up on opposite ends of the Americas. After years of hearing about each other’s life, fate brought them together in the Boston area in 2022 and sparked a powerful collaboration.

Between Nasim’s experience in writing, management and education, and Heidi’s business, design and communication expertise, they put their skills together to create
Word Conscious: a resource for professionals aspiring to make writing their most effective workplace tool.

Our Values

We believe in mutual empowerment.

Every individual has unique insights and talents within them, which education can help bring to light. We help you learn, but we also learn from your unique perspectives, which in turn help us empower others on their professional journey.

We’re driven.

We’re go-getters, and we love meeting fellow go-getters. We set goals and do whatever it takes to meet them. We believe in your dream and will help you get there!

We’re multicultural.

We’re East Coast and West Coast; we’re Latina, Middle-Eastern, and White; we’re American and of the wider world. We take into account a variety of cultural perspectives and help you navigate cultural workplace confusion, taking into account the hurdles many workers still face due to implicit bias.

We’re women.

Through our own experience or that of our friends and clients, we are familiar with the struggles faced by many women and non-binary people, especially when it comes to workplace communication and the ways in which it continues to be gendered.

We don’t believe in the separation of art and tech.

No matter what field you’re in, you need to be able to write. We don’t stand by a dichotomy between arts and tech: we’ve studied both, and we use both in everything we do—especially in writing.
